It has always been a wonder to us how these smaller coins can survive in such pristine conditions. Obviously this coin was carefully saved since it was minted 129 years ago.
Outstanding surfaces are super clean and smooth. Even when using a strong glass you will not find ANY imperfections on the surfaces. The texture is a thick satiny like look. The luster is good. Both sides are an original beautiful even orange gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and are frosty. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 236, NGC 180, CAC 83. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $3,525.00 01/2015 (hard to believe it was so long ago). These are NOT as easy to find as you might think! This coin will be a great addition to ANY SUPERB GEM set.
