We are totally amazed at how this coin-a first year of issue, has survived 227 years in such a glorious state of preservation. No question the quality is HIGH END!
The surfaces are remarkably clean and smooth. There are visible adjustment marks on both sides which are Mint made BUT NOT AS VISIBLE IN HAND. A surprising luster beams boldly from all over. Mother nature did a marvelous job of toning. Both sides enjoy vivid colors of totally original navy/royal blue/pale violet/green/gold colors. Miss Liberty and the details actually are well struck. The eye appeal is amazing!
PCGS 7, NGC 14, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only 3 in MS64. The last piece to sell was a PCGS non CAC. It brought $52,875.00 05/2015. If you could find a PCGS CAC MS65, one would sell for $80,000.00+. This coin will be a great fit in any GEM Type, Half Dime, or single coin set. We LOVE this coin!
