H.10 1840 PCGS PR64 ELIASBERG
$37,500.00
SUPER HIGH END! We do not see anything significant that keeps this coin from being a PR65 (we make NO promises it ever will).
The mirrors are as deep, crystal clear, and highly reflective as what you’d see on a later date larger proof coin. Under a strong glass you can see a stray light line and a tick, but there are NO other problems. Both sides are covered by a totally ORIGINAL mix of forest green/olive/pale navy colors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have pinpoint sharp strikes. The eye appeal is really spectacular for such a small coin!
It is believed that LESS then a dozen were ever minted (thats rarer than a 1894S 10C)! PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. There are possibly 4 NGC coins higher. There is NO recent auction record for this coin. Collectors Universe Value is $50,000.00.
This coin is from the Eliasberg Collection. That was the ONLY collection ever to be assembled that was deemed complete (although it did not have the 1870S Half 10C which we sold for over $1 million dollars two year ago). Any real rarity (like this) from that collection is considered a numismatic treasure.
