Yet another amazing coin out of “The Type Set” or the Oliver Jung Collection. Grading it an MS67+ is actually being cruel. However, in the end, we can live with it as it is the finest 1854 that exists.
Superb surfaces are exceedingly clean and smooth. They have a satiny texture. Even using a strong glass yields no problems. You can see some minor die clashing (Mint Made). The luster is strong. Phenomenal shades of reddish gold/reddish brown colors which are totally original frame mostly the rims. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is stunning!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This was the Gardner coin which sold back in 2015 for $15,275.00. Oliver Jung knew this was the right coin for his amazing Type Collection. We know this is a great coin to place in either a GEM Type or MS Seated Half Dime collection. In fat, for the Type, this will be the best example you’ll be able to buy as the 1853 W/A MS67+ CAC is in a major collection. We strongly believe the value of this coin will only grow as time goes on.
