J-0132 $1 1851 PCGS PR63BN
$23,500.00
Take a regular 1851 Seated Dollar and strike it as a trial in copper, and this is the coin you get! Its wicked cool. The even better thing is its value: in regular MS63, these have only 1300 minted and BID at $55,000.00 (they trade for more than that). In proof 63, they BID at $27,000.00-for a restrike with ONLY 50 minted! Here, you have a piece many times rarer (its an R-7 with just 4-12 minted) and multiples LESS in price. How can you not add this to your Seated or Pattern collection?
We used the most powerful glass we can find-this coin really has nothing keeping from a PR64 designation that we can see (that does not guarantee it will ever 64). The surfaces are smooth, super clean, and actually do have decent mirrors that are reflective. The color is an original chocolate/pale blue/golden brown and is even. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do stand out. There is nothing not to LOVE about this coin! The eye appeal is mind-boggling!
The rarity is indisputable. We disagree w/the pop in 63 BN as we’re sure this piece was tried for a 64. PCGS 3, NGC 0. NONE are finer or lower! There are NO NGC’s in any color. There are 2 64RB’s in PCGS ONLY. This is a neat addition to any Pattern set or Seated Dollar set. You won’t see many others ever offered!
