J-0319 3C 1863 PCGS PR-65 RB

$5,250.00

This is an R-5 (75-100 possibly made). We strongly believe that Patterns are one of the last frontiers in numismatics. They have been overlooked forever by regular collectors fearful about the lack of reliable price guides. We promise that is about to change.

This coin has the BEST of all worlds going for it. It is a design that never was. Similar looking PR Large Cents sell for well into five figures. The denomination is obsolete. The coin itself is incredible (remember it is still 145 years old). And its price is ridiculously cheap.

Quality wise, we grade this coin a PR65.9. No, we are NOT pushing it. Using a strong glass, we can’t find ANY imperfections. Maybe we need a neutron microscope! The surfaces are clean and actually have decent mirrors. Both sides are a gorgeous totally orginal mix of RB/pale purple colors. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike. We just can’t stress enough what a tremendous value this piece represents (just think about everything we have said here). PCGS 3, NGC 0. Scary, but there are possibly TWO known PR65 RD’s. Still, these are so grossly undervalued in todays market.
