Housed in an old “pancake” style holder. The design is identical to the regular Shield Nickel. This is a R-6 (21-30 minted).
Not a 65, but a top notch 64 for sure. There are a few tiny mint made mint grease stains and spots that are well hidden (you do NOT see them looking dead on). The mirrors are like what you’d see on a regular Shield Pr-deep, clean (overall), clear, and flashy. Every detail is needle sharp in strike and have delicate frost. The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 4, NGC 0. PCGS has graded 9 higher. The 2009 Judd book values this at $6,000.00 in 63 and $10,000.00 in PR65. There are NO recent auction records for a PR64.
