J-0624 5C 1868 PCGS PR-65 ELIASBERG

This is an R-6 (13-30 known). It is a very unusual design trial. The board thick rim is very cool. We do believe the owner purchased this coin direct from the Eliasberg Sale back in 1997. It is still in an older green tag PCGS holder.

Both sides are deeply mirrored but do show a few teenie striations and planchet imperfections under a glass. There are one or two teenie spots on the upper part of the obverse. Regardless, this is a totally fresh and completely original piece. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is excellent! PCGS 9, NGC 3. Only PCGS has graded one coin a 66. We are pleased to own and present such a terrific piece of numismatic history.
