J-1015 $1 1870 PCGS PR65 ELIASBERG

Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer this “old friend” again. In our opinion, it is one of the all time greatest Silver Dollar Patterns that exists. No one can say they have bought or sold more Patterns then we have! So take that comment very seriously. Multiple WOW’s! This is a sensational VERY high end piece. It is a silver example of the famous “Longacre” Seated series (this one does have the regular reverse) -probably one of the most beloved designs never to be accepted as coinage. This piece is a R-7 (4-12 minted). It is the second finest known-the PCGS PR66 Simpson coin is the only one finer. Outstanding mirrors are deep, have crystal clear clarity, are remarkably clean, and of course has bold reflectivity. The mirrors look like  a freshly formed sheet of ice. Like most Eliasberg pieces, this coin does have totally ORIGINAL peripheral blue toning that blends into neat champagne/pale golden brown/purple colors in the centers. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is jaw dropping! PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1 (we believe this is BOTH PCGS Pieces). Until recently, the last time this coin sold in auction-was back in 2003. When we bought the Denali Collection in 2010 of the 350+ pieces about a dozen stood out. This coin stood out so much we made it the cover coin for all of the collections marketing. The coin was immediately sold to one of the sharpest pattern collectors of all time. It has remained there until he traded it back to us and we resold it. So its exposure to the world is really limited.  To us, this J-1015 Longacre Dollar is one of the greatest Dollar patterns in existence!
