J-1574 $5 1878 PCGS PR66RB

$21,500.00

This coin is an R-6 (13-30 Minted). It is Barbers Liberty Head $5 design struck in copper. Too bad such a beautiful design never made it into circulation!

Incredible mirrors are deep, crystal clear, clean, and have bold reflectivity. Its rare to find that kind of flash on ANY PR Copper coin! The mirrors actually have a “watery” look when twirled. There are NO spots what so ever. Both sides are a totally ORIGINAL mix of GEM faded Mint Red/pale golden brown/pale violet colors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is stunning!

PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. One last sold in auction $14,950.00 03/2012 Stacks. That was just too little. The current Collectors Universe Value is $20,000.00. We think this should be a $25,000.00 coin. Keep in mind, a Gold PR $5 from 1878 in 66 would be worth an easy $75,000.00++ if one ever existed! Your not going to see many of these ever offered!
