J-1585 10C 1879 WASHLADY PCGS PR66RB
What a beautiful Washlady dime! Rated R-6+ (31-70 minted). There are fewer than 20 known, and this one is second finest RB certified by PCGS. A classic pattern type designed by William Barber that displays Liberty facing left with her long hair tied up in a bun, and is one of the most popular series of patterns for collectors, a truly magnificent type that would have been a lovely coin to see in production. The quality is VERY high end. Boldly reflecting near full mint red surfaces mellow to light shades of violet-pale golden brown. The mirrors are crisp and the color is truly gorgeous. Close inspection reveals a microscopic toning speck or two, but no distracting flaws anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have crisp full strikes. The eye appeal is spectacular! PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1. This coin was purchased from an “old time” collection. It has not been on the market in many years. This is clearly NOT the other PCGS PR66 which sold in 2007 for $11,500.00. That coin has more brown in it. We assure you, this is magnificent GEM you will want to stare at all day.
