J- 168 1855 ORIGINAL PCGS PR64BN

$3,975.00

This is a R-4 (76-200 minted). It is a very popular large Flying Eagle design proposal for the next version of the Large Cents (which never happened). It is struck in copper.

At one time this was in a PR65 NGC holder. The tag has since been lost. The original owner did resubmit it and as you can see it is now a SUPER HIGH END PR64-and rightly so!

There are a few very teenie planchat imperfections in the right obverse field that are what we think lames it a PR64+. Overall, the surfaces are nicely mirrored and look clean. The color is a rich chocolate brown mixed with real Mint Red and some pale violet. There are NO spots. All of the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and have light frost. You have to see this coin to believe it-it is gorgeous!

PCGS 36, NGC 0, CAC 2.
