J- 177 H.01 1856 PCGS PR64

This is an R-5 31-75 minted. We have seen a few of these and so far, this actually ranks among the finer coins!

There is one small MINT MADE lint mark in the left obverse field that is all we see keeping this GEM from being a PR65. Overall, the surfaces are clean and do have somewhat reflective mirrors. A moderate mix of “woody” brown and sandy brown form a beautiful combination. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is like the quality-outstanding!

PCGS 14, NGC 6, CAC 2. A NON CAC recently sold at the Stacks Auction for $4,744.00 08/2010. These are far rarer than the regular Proofs which have 225 minted!
