J-340 50C 1863 PCGS PR64

R-6- (21-30 minted). Regular obverse die, reverse similar to regular proof die, with GOD OUR TRUST in field above eagle. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Highly reflective mirrors beam from under a layer of lavender, pewter, robin’s egg blue, and lilac-olive toning with streaks of original silver on the obverse and teal-blue, rose, and pale gold on the reverse. The devices are very well struck up and offer a strong frost. There is a moderate amount of contrast, just shy of a full CAM designation. Very original in terms of quality and eye appeal. PCGS 11, NGC 4, CAC 1. Going back to 2004, every PR64 graded by PCGS has sold in the $3,000 to $3,500 range and the current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $3,800. Only two have been graded finer at PCGS, both PR65. We did buy this coin from our recent May Regency Sale for $3,050.00. We felt that was ridiculous cheap. Even the current Collectors Universe Values this coin at $3,800.00. Prior to that, the last one to sell in auction brought $3,525.00 01/2016. ANY 1863-1865 W/Motto coin is exceedingly rare-do not be fooled by the pops. WE HAVE POSTED THIS COIN AT OUR BEST PRICE
