This coin is an R-6 (13-30 minted). It is a die trial of the regular design struck in copper. This coin is also totally ORIGINAL and near full GEM!
Both sides are super clean and have mirrors that are more semi prooflike than deep and proof. A beautiful rich layer of medium chocolate color mixes with red at the fringes and covers all the surfaces. There are No spots. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 1. The pops show none are higher-but we know there is one better-the NGC Simpson coin. The last PCGS coin at auction was way back in 1997.
