J-73 50C 1838 ORIGINAL PCGS PR67

$49,500.00

This is an R-5 Pattern (31-75 minted). This is the FINEST KNOWN for the design. Mr. Simpson has a PR66.

This coin just oozes with total perfection. If you use a really strong glass you will see everything from the surfaces on are perfect. The die crack in the back is trait of all J-73’s. The mirrors are deep and have bold clarity. When you twirl the coin it looks like a river of flash. Both sides have mix of pale navy/blue/purple/green colors that are spread all over. The colors are totally original. The obverse has a few white spots which are from something at one time being over the coin. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have thick frost. The eye appeal is gorgeous!

PCGS 1, NGC 2, CAC 1. There are no auction records for ANY J-73 Original. Just think of this: a regular 1838 in PR66+ sold for $336,000.00 08/2018. This Pattern is no where near over priced. Its fair to call in UNDERvalued in today’s market. This is a rare opportunity to own the FINEST example of an early Proof Pattern.
