This is a R-7 (4-12 minted) Standard Silver Dollar struck in copper. The coin is ORIGINAL, gorgeous, and VERY high end in quality!
Incredible problem free and powerfully reflective mirrors beam from both sides like a freshly formed sheet of glass. There are NO spots or lines hidden anywhere. The color is a rich brown/blue/deep gold. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full sharp strikes. The eye appeal is like the quality-phenomenal!
PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 2. The last time one was in major auction-was back in 1994! Only the Simpson specimen is finer (and you know that is not going to be offered for sale anytime soon). The Judd book values a PR63 $7,000.00 and a NON existent PR65 at only $14,000.00 (pretty much what a regular cameo is worth for the date). As time goes on and the “spook” factor wears off and patterns come back in vogue, these prices will be cents on the dollar. We think a coin like this -a beautiful design that never was in a very high grade, with tremendous looks, should be worth at least $20,000.00. There never has been a better time to buy patterns like this.
