G $1 1855 PCGS MS64+

This is a real MS64+ near miss GEM. Only with a strong glass can you detect some minor imperfections that keep this coin as an MS64. Not only are the surfaces boldly lustrous, they are semi-prooflike. Both sides are a beautiful and totally original orange/gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 245, NGC 197, CAC 37. PCGS has grade graded only 8 coins MS64+. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $14,950.00 07/2011. Does one NOT selling since 2011 confirm how difficult these are to find?  Next step up would cost at least $30,000.00-if you can even find one. This coin is more than suitable for ANY GEM MS Type set. When we needed one at the beginning of the year we found out just how hard these are to find, so we set out on a hunt. Six months later got one only because someone was liquidating a Type set.
