H.10 1835 SM DT SM 5C PCGS MS67+ EX POGUE

Having built the all time FINEST EVER MS Bust Half Dime Collection (Law/Simpson), we know how all the dates come and how few exist. We can’t stress enough the extreme rarity of this fabulous GEM. This is a mind boggling example of 181 year old coin that has stayed in near flawless condition. In our opinion, that defies the laws of survival! Virtually perfect in every way! This uber-quality gem boasts a vibrant mint frost that flashes from below a layer of rich totally original toning in hues of violet, red, orange, teal  and gold. There are slight traces of prooflike mirrors as well. The entire design on both sides was fully rendered by a crisp impression from the dies. After careful study, we cannot find even a single minute imperfection. The eye appeal is jaw dropping! PCGS 6, NGC 7, CAC 6. PCGS claims to have graded 2  in MS67+ with one lone MS68 (see Law/Simpson Collection). This coin brought $17,625.00 in the 05/2015 Pogue sale. Legend was the buyer. We sold the coin to a collector who at the time wanted to build a Type set. He has since changed direction and found an avenue he likes better. Our job is to find the best home possible for this great piece. .
