Deep and glittering mirrors light up some pretty moderate toning. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors look like a freshly formed sheet of ice. Both sides have totally original color. The obverse is a golden brown. The reverse is a rose/amber/blue/green combo that is dazzling. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have thick coating of frost. The eye appeal is wonderful!
Only 460 minted. PCGS 7, NGC 11, CAC 4. CAC may have beaned only 6 coins higher (that is nothing)!!! The last PCGS CAC coin to sell via auction was way back in 2017. Of course the price guides are way off on this a coin like this. Look at what you get: Civil War era, a GEM, 163 years old, it costs less than $2,500.00 and is damn rare!
