This is a wonderful example of a tougher Civil War date. We unhesitatingly rank it VERY HIGH END!
Bold mirrors glare can be seen all over. The mirrors are clean and have excellent clarity. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have a “watery” like look. A moderate layer of beautiful and totally original crimson/deeper golden brown color covers mainly the peripheries on the obverse. The contrast is fully visible. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is powerful!
ONLY 500 were minted. PCGS 10, NGC 6, CAC 10. PCGS has graded 6 in PR66+. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell brought $5,053.00 09/2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $6,000.00. This is not a date nor grade you see offered much at all (at least we do not). For a small coin, it has BIG coin looks!
