1914-S $5 Gold Indian Head PCGS MS64 (CAC) SUPER! A SILENT STOPPER!
$105,000.00
Until you start working on a $5 Indian set, you won’t see how extremely rare this date is in choice MS and higher. We can tell you, it is years before these pop up. This coin we are offering is unquestionably nice and we rank rank it VERY HIGH END!
For what ever reason, these did not come on great planchets or had striking problems. This coin has no striking issues. The planchet seems slightly rough. Overall, the coin is clean. Only when using a strong glass can you see a few small cuts and lines. NONE are serious. A moderate but very visible glowing luster does beam well from all over. Both sides are a totally original yellow gold color. There is a pinch of coppery color in the 4 in the date. This is NOT a dirty coin! No question this coin is 100% original. All of the details are extremely well struck and do offer light frost. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 6, NGC 5, CAC 3. CAC has only beaned one higher (Half Dome has it). This was the last coin to sell at auction. It brought $92,000.00 way back in 2011! The price guides are so far off on this date nd grade its like why bother? We can assure you of this, we placed one of the other PCGS CAC pieces long ago. We are not so sure there is a 3rd CAC coin. No matter what, you are going to wait forever for this date to appear in i64 w/a CAC bean. This coin here represents the very best that will be available!
Note: we just saw that a 15S $5 PCGS MS64 brought $92,000.00 in 2015 and was the last PCGS CAC to sell via auction. It has a CAC pop of 4. The price of the 14S is NOT a fluke or is contrived! Legend built the #1 all time set of $5 Indians, we know this market!
