LETS LOOK FORWARD
We clearly see that 2021 will be not just a good, but great year for the rare coin market. Even lack of shows and little supply won’t hold things back.
Looking at the upcoming FUN Auction, we already see many prices beyond market. We’re shaking our heads as to where they will end up. Collectors are that starved for great coins. So a major auction with 100-250 legit top pieces is not enough to satisfy demand (our 500 lot auctions get hundreds of top buyers per sale). We see values for great coins rising by 10% in January alone! Stuff and dreck will continue to flounder and in many cases fall in value.
Then there is gold. HANG ON TIGHT! We predict gold will break $2,500.00 some time in 2021. Today as of this writing it took a nose dive. BUY!
Everything is place for gold to go beyond $2,000.00. It probably won’t pop overnight, but it will inch up. We have been desperately trying to fill our inventory with better gold coins. There is not much available at all in better gold. Even generics like MS66/66+ Saints have totally dried up. Its that tight out there.
2021 is the year of hard assets. Rare coins are unquestionably set to move.

TO MAKE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING! This is critical. We ONLY sell PCGS CAC coins for a reason. Sorry that we have to go into the recorded message.
Our #1 rule, always buy the BEST you can afford. That means buy the BEST coin for the grade. You do NOT have to buy crazy coins in MS67 or 68. Buying lesser quality cheap will get you no where. These days it is highly unlikely you will “rip” anything or something will fall through the cracks.
Quality and especially EYE APPEAL are everything. Believe it or not, we have found one of the best tests is to show coin to a non numismatist. They should be unbiased if a coin is pretty or not. You need some kind of wow factor to sustain top value.
Buying CAC guarantees you NO doctored coins. The coin docs are so good they can some times escape the grading services. We assure you, this problem is pretty much in check right now. Buying CAC also helps avoid gradeflation infected coins. We just saw an example of an expensive coin that was over graded by a full point! You do not want to be the person owning it when its musical chairs end. You will have to pay much more for PCGS CAC coins, in the end the returns are more then worth it.
Making money in rare coins does not mean you buy today and sell today. Be prepared to hold. There will be cycles of highs and lows, but do not think because coins are so liquid you can make a profit in a short period of time.
Last, if you are an auction buyer, do not get carried away. Do NOT buy commoner coins from auctions. We strongly advise you find a good dealer to work with. They WILL save you money in the long run!
