Legend Numismatics wishes to congratulate our exclusive collector Half Dome on his complete purchase of the Bob Simpson $10 Indian MS Indian Gold set. The deal was valued in the HIGH 7 figures. As many noticed, we had been selling off the dupes recently. Many people have asked us what was going on after seeing the 1933 $10 for sale (HD has 2 others)-and we felt it was time to mention it. The deal probably was the largest single transaction to take place in 2023.
Half Dome now has the #1 all time PCGS CAC $10 Indian collection. The grand highlight is the amazing $10 1920-S PCGS MS67+ CAC (which we figured at a world record multi million dollar price) followed by the FINEST $10 Indian that exists-the $10 1908-S PCGS MS68+ CAC. This set cannot be duplicated. In fact, Half Dome has the #1 $5 Indian MS set PCGS CAC and for sure one of the top PCGS CAC Saint sets. We pinch ourselves over the quality in these sets. Today none of those sets could be reassembled. The Half Dome sets will be passed down within the family, these coins won’t be coming out again in our lifetime!
Even though things are a bit sluggish-there are still many hungry collectors willing to step up-assuming the special coins are there (look at what Half Dome just did). You need wicked cool coins like these to stimulate the market. Obviously there is not much out there. Hopefully, our Regency 61 sale and then the Baltimore show and auction will show some strength. October was a rare month with no major shows or anything to really spur the market.
Last, okay we called for gold to hit $2,000.00 an ounce. Give it time. All hell is breaking loose in the MidEast.Of course here at home our economy is crazy. Collectors are seeking to pick up gold coins again. It seems people are sitting on the sidelines waiting. Give it all time. The coin market will come roaring back, it’s just a temporary lull.
