This past week we saw some major gains in the price of gold bullion. It’s teetering at $2,000.00 an ounce right now. Geopolitical tension and turmoil have once again give rise to gold. We believe, if things escalate gold will break $2,000.00 and be off to the races. We saw small hints of what we think is to come last week. We sold many gold coins-including a few that never made our website. One coin was for OVER $1,000,000.00! No question the demand is there, but collectors are not seeing much product to be excited and jump in.
You still have time to buy gold coins. We highly recommend a Gold Type set or a 1900-1908 $5 Libs in MS65 or even P Mint Saints in MS 64/65-66. Also, We do find MS65 Libs and MS66 Saints to be highly popular.
If Gold is not your collecting genre, try Type. Type has become so cheap, we know few dealers seeking certain Type coins to put away. You’ll need some patience and the ability to hold Type coins. Always buy the BEST quality you can afford with good eye appeal.
There is plenty of money out there looking for places to park. In our area, there is a summer shore town called Deal. Every time we drive through it, we multimillion dollar tear downs in progress. Some inflation! We watch the car auctions and see muscle cars still selling for six figures each. Comic books are still strong. We think because of the severe lack of fresh and exciting coins, our market is having trouble gaining momentum. Hard assets usually do well in geopolitical times. We see our auction getting serious and heavy eye balls. Because it has some interesting coins, we feel we will see very strong prices realized. We hope the sale becomes a spark for the market. Just give it all time. We are quite bullish on today’s coin market. Plus, we’d be shocked if gold did not break $2,000.00 this upcoming week.

Ugh oh. We are stuck in mud. Sorry for the lack of NEWPS this week. Hopefully we will pick up a few goodies at the IMEX Show in Nashville this week. If not Nashville then for sure Baltimore in 2 weeks.
