No shows + No major auctions = No excitement. Seems like this should be the period after the ANA show. Collectors and dealers typically digest their haul from the ANA show and auctions through the end of September. Only this year, it seems like September flip flopped with October.
Save for the die hard collectors, there is little action happening in the marketplace today. The reason is simple: there is nothing fresh or new in the marketplace. Plus, the majority of dealer/shareholders of CACG still have many coins in their system. Hard to stimulate a market with this going on.
While Legend is enjoying good sales overall, it’s primarily due to a large deal we have in. Without the deal, we’d be bored. However, we did have a lot of excitement over two Proof Gold coins we sold recently off the web with several people disappointed they missed out on the two coins (a $5 1895 PCGS PR66 DC CAC and a $2.5 1909 PCGS PR65+ CAC). The Morgans from a deal we have are still selling fairly well (the non CAC’s are doing well), a coin at a time.
There probably will be little activity until The new Nashville Show at the very end of the month. So we are not expecting much until then. But you never know what can happen-we are hopeful some deals will come our way.
The market will not be like this forever. We predict around the Baltimore Show there will be a small explosion of activity. You have 2 auctions (LRCA is Nov 2 is one) and a big new show. We fully expect at that time, even the non die hard collectors will be back and buying.

As you can see, we are very dry again. However our one highlight is a coin that should be on many want lists: $10 1920-S PCGS MS61 CAC!. It should be noted, CAC has only beaned 12 coins possibly in ALL grades! Good luck finding any others w/beans!
