ACTIVITY IS GOOD
It never ceases to amaze us how when we put up a large group of NEWPS (vs a small group) activity in the beginning starts off so slow. It took until Wednesday for sales to start rolling. When activity started, it was like a train speeding up. We even did two bigger sales Friday afternoon. In the end, our sales were well over $500,000.00 for the week. With no shows or any big deals happening, that is pretty good.
Between now and June 14th, there are no major shows. Only the PCGS Invitational and our auction May 16+17 can be used as a measure of health in the market. That is one of the longer stretches we have ever endured without a major show. That leads us to believe our auction and the PCGS Show will be not just good, but dynamite. People clearly are still craving coins with a deep hunger. Dealers are still pretty dry-even if they stocked up at all at CSNS (those purchases are already placed). We know the majority of what we bought at CSNS is already sold. Our only fear is that lack of activity and product slows the market. It has happened before. If it dies, we think the market will have a huge spurt in June (Long Beach and Baltimore are back to back), then go quiet again for July (summer doldrums) and then go crazy at ANA only to do its typical shut down (not just slow down) until the end of September. For many reasons we are looking forward to the May PCGS Show.
A very interesting note: our average ticket sale in the last 90 days has been around $15,000.00. That does not include any coins over $1 million. We have never had a number that high. The majority of our sales were bigger gold coins.
GOLD NEVER STOPS GLITTERING
At CSNS we were nearly wiped out of gold. It did not matter if it was a generic widget or a rare high grade coin. Every one wanted gold. The dealers who were buying paid super strong too. Gold coins from $1,200.00 to $107,000.00 sold fast and furious.
The AA Set of Saints (a set very high on the registry) was broken up at CSNS. The prices were really strong-but the majority of coins sold immediately (we had early dibs and bought the 10D MS67, the 25S MS65, and the 26D MS65 to name a few). We do know the 1924 in MS68 (NO CAC) sold for above $200,000.00! The HR FE PCGS MS66 CAC High Relief sold for $100,000.00 to a dealer! That shows a massive appetite for better gold.
Every week we post gold and every week the first coins off our web site-are gold. Since we only sell PCGS CAC to our customers many have learned how impossible it has become to find the coins. Even things like generic MS66 Saints. We used to buy a few a week, now we buy none.
Our take is that even if the price of gold does not move, the demand is super strong for all nice gold coins, the market will remain dry and positive in this area for a very long time. Buy your gold today for tomorrows results.

We are blown away every day now at the activity and growing strength of our May Regency Sale. Not only did we have people come to our office every day this week, we had a lot viewing in NYC that was full. AT CSNS we did have most of the dollars there (by request) and out table was packed. This Monday through -Thur (the coins leave for N.O Friday), we are booked solid with people coming in for lot viewing. In addition, the registrants and eye balls are at record levels already (and we have 12 days to go)! All we can say to prospective bidders-be prepared! Many major dealers have looked at the entire sale. We do NOT see things selling cheap.

Response has been tremendous and we estimate these sales could soon reach 250 lots per session.
