1911-D $5 Gold Indian Head PCGS MS64+ (CAC) ex. Half Dome

Only the 1909O of the five Indian series is rarer than the 1911D. No top set should be without this piece. The quality and eye appeal is all there and then some. Satiny smooth surfaces are glowing with light orange gold toning. Miss Liberty and the devices are all sharply struck. Both sides are devoid of distractions and are free of problems. This example is closer to Gem than MS64. 11D Five Indians are around in lower grades. However, there are very few true gems like this exist. This is a true opportunity for any collector building a top Five Indian set. This coin was displaced by the sole finest example of the 1911D ( PCGS MS65+ CAC ) in the Half Dome collection. Current CU for a MS64+ is $180,000.

PCGS 17 including 3 in MS64+ with only 2 finer. NGC 11 with 2 in MS65. CAC 6.
