NEAR RECORD NUMBERS
For us, it sort of seemed like August was a month in slow motion. There were days it was quiet for us. And there were days when we spent millions and sold millions. After putting our heads back on, we see that August was a near record setting month for us. We did not realize our ANA show was as good as it turned out to be. The amount of wicked cool coins we placed in August was rivaled by NO other rare coin firm (we are excluding auctions).
A shout out to our uber Collector partner Bruce Morelan who is one of the greatest collectors EVER. While others like the lime light and buy coins we question, Bruce is building an unrivaled pre 1800 Type set. In the past 2 weeks alone, he has picked up the amazing 1C 1793 Liberty Cap PCGS MS62 CAC, the 25C 1796 PCGS MS66 CAC, and one of his all time fav coins he used to own: the 50C 1797 PCGS MS65+ CAC. We want to make this clear, with Bruce it is NOT about the title or rank, it is all about the QUALITY, knowledge, and eye appeal of each piece. That is what Legend Numismatics has always been about as well-TOP QUALITY. Look at what we built for the all time greatest Collector EVER- Bob Simpson. No one can come close to the WILD quality he owns (he owns more epic coins than any one). Anyway, congrats to Bruce, we thought this project would take a while, but with sudden opportunities arising we jumped and we are way ahead of schedule. This set will rank as one of the all time greatest when done!
Bruce is not the only major collection we are building. All we can say is we have added some WORLD CLASS coins to several collections in August. We even sold a few substantial Proof Gold coins. And we sold a world class collection-to be announced down the road. Again, EVERY coin was quality oriented. In a dead market NONE of these sales would have happened.
BUY GOLD
Must we stand on a street corner and bang a drum? Generic gold is at historic lows. You have a spot of $1,525.00 and you can buy things like MS62/63 Saints for $1,600.00. Its insane. We are quickly warming up to MS65 Saints. our true love is MS66 Saints. We just feel there can be a bigger spread down the road. Plus, other coins like $2.5 Liberties are dirt cheap.
We’ve been gold bugs all our lives and greatly believe in it as a hedge-especially now. Our #1 suggestion is still build a Type set. Its you who can decide what is in it. Do know that if gold breaks $1,600.00, it does not mean your coins are worth more. You have to watch the premiums grow.
Also, we can’t say loud enough to buy better gold too. We will ONLY deal in PCGS CAC coins. You can sleep at night knowing they have not been messed with.

Due to the holiday and travel we are going light on Newps this week.

And as you can see, we broke up the PR 20C set. Each coin is terrific. You do not see many of them around these days.
Stay tuned as we just picked up a killer 800 coin collection. We expect to start posting the coins by mid September. Its a high end deal of 5C-$20.00 that have been off the market for a long time. That is all we can say right now. We’re like kids in the candy store with the coins ( the majority are not that expensive either).
Last: we will work extra hard at the Long Beach Show to buy coins $1,000.00-$5,000.00. The supply of coins that are not retreads seems to be low to zero!
