FYI: You know darn well we will be in and out of the office until Jan 2, and we will be checking our emails every other minute when we can. However, we decided to slow things down for the end of the year and step back to take a small break.
Our last group of NEWPS performed exceptionally well, with a few coins receiving multiple queries. What blew us away was how the $1 1794 Gold Privy did. Within 15 minutes of listing the $1 1794 Gold Privy on our site, we not only sold it but also received several additional serious inquiries. Shocking! We think the 1794 gold $1 is neat as heck, and owning one of the first 10 minted would be cool. We took a shot and bought coin #6. To be clear, Legend is NOT a fan of Moderns. However, we strongly believe that the Mint got this one (and those little high reliefs) spot on. These coins, for whatever reason, have a different feel than most modern ones. A major dealer who we know who also is not a modern fan even bought some privys. In fact, we have two First Strike 1794’s for sale (see the listings). As of this writing, we were just told Heritage, of all people, is now paying $42,500.00 for ANY of the privies (bummer; we sold 2 others for a lot less).
Other coins sold well too. We wish we had 2 more PCGS MS66+ CAC FE and, of course, a 25C 1928 PCGS MS66+ FH CAC (those things are red hot). Besides the NEWPS, we are selling other coins off the web too. The $2.5 1839-O PCGS AU55 CAC sold—of course, then 2 people inquired afterwards. Why does this happen? If you see a coin on our site, talk to us. Keep in mind that our website is followed by thousands of people. Yes, a coin can sit for a bit, then boom! SOLD. We will always work with you to get you into the coins of your desires.
