NOT MUCH GOING ON
We’re heading into what we think finally will be down time for the market. We can tell you our sales from the web set were greatly slowed this week. But then look what is going on in the economy and the stock market. You can’t blame a few people for not feeling like spending on anything right now. Of course, we predict that will all change as each smaller auction rolls around and then kaboom on ANA auction week.
You can’t go out and find quality DMPL’s, GEM Bust Halves, or even GEM FH Standing quarters of better dates. We all know better gold (especially better Saints) are impossible to find. Each time a truly rare coin that is a real quality appears, we think the market will be raised to a new level. You can’t go by 2018 prices anymore. Today’s prices are the new levels!
Buying today will be cheaper than buying later. The crowds won’t appear again until the bigger auctions or shows are running. We strongly advise, if something pops up and seems too high priced, we would definitely suggest reasonable negotiating right now. Again, towards the ANA we believe things will dramatically pick up and you’ll be forced back into stronger competition for coins.
In areas close to our HQ, we still see multi million dollar houses being bought and sold like money was nothing (even within the past week or so). Even more in your face are the mansions that are newer that people are tearing down! With the stock market being hokey and with fears of recession, we see even more money still pouring into hard assets-and real estate which is one of the oldest and most secure. Coins are liquid and portable. They will always rank high on a trusted scale as well for long term safety. You might hear trillions have disappeared the past few weeks, but that still is nothing as compared to the monies out there. Right now the coin market is still on a positive trend even if it seems like things has slowed (an illusion of time).
THE BALTIMORE COIN AUCTION RESULTS
As we mentioned, there had been little retail traffic at the show. But apparently collectors were saving their monies for the auction. This is what we mean, only around venues like an auction will people pile on and compete for coins-especially coins that are weaker in quality (which is why you should always work with a dealer).
