A QUIET WEEK
For us a quiet week is still selling over $500,000.00, just not a lot of sales came off the web this past week. We’re okay with the break. We know in mid-July starting w/the FUN Auction then at the end of the month our big Regency Auction 53 there will be lots of action including NEWPS. In fact, we’re already at near record eyeballs for Auction 53 and we only have a not in order watch list up. That is a VERY good sign!
Buying wise, we were only offered one medium priced coin all week and we bought it. We are awaiting to conclude the purchase of a six figure later gold Type deal. The coins are pretty darn neat! We have something in the works, but those coins won’t come to fruition until mid-July or later. So as far as wicked cool NEWPS, we could be dry for the next week or two (but please always check back).
For as long as there is no glut of coins and there is at least some demand, the coin market will remain strong. While the stock market and crypto are in a race to see which can crash harder. the true rare coin market has shown stability. The ONLY area that is seriously suffering: is OVERGRADED coins or problem coins. They are sinking fast and furious. While demand was stronger for anything two months ago, we see buyers are stepping away from those types of coins. This is why we made the choice long ago to buy and sell ONLY CAC beaned coins. QUALITY coins will reign supreme if there were to be a market slow down.
Last, we’ll say it again, SELL YOUR EXCESS COINS NOW! It’s not just that we could use some, it’s because there will be more than enough coins to hit market starting ANA time on. Your marginal coins could drop a little in value as more coins appear. Why sit on them? Yes, we do think coins will remain strong for a while, but this is NOT a complete bull market-nor has it been. Buyers will be able to choose much better coins (we believe) starting soon. We’ll see just how deep the black hole really is. So far, it has fooled us every time being deeper than we imagined.
Start thinking about ANA folks. Its less then 90 days away. Do have coins to sell? Do you need auction representation? Tell us now. The earlier you can work with us the better.
A grading tip; WAIT until your sets are complete before resubmitting them. A complete set usually catches the graders eyes, and they seem more eager to give a + or two. Today PCGS is on a tear and it’s hard to make anything. We don’t think the old on off switch is there any more. Don’t waste your bullets. Consult with a dealer who regularly submits first.
NEWPS
Ouch! We are out of NEWPS. Rather than succumb to temptation and buy lesser quality coins, we will wait. We buy ONLY the BEST coins.
We’ll have a few interesting NEWPS next week (assuming the mail decides to move).
You really have to look at some of the coins we have posted. There are some very special coins now posted. Why do we still have them? Bet if they were in auction there would be some bidding wars! Buying from dealers usually is your best value. Check out what we have!
