BEEN AWAY FOR A LONG TIME
We’ve been out of the office pretty much for 11 days. Even though we were at Long Beach, we took extra time off and got some rest after the show. It was much needed.
Even though we were chilling, we did some very serious business back at home. We sold a few finest known PR Gold pieces, and the creme of the crop: a $4 1879 PCGS PR67 CAMEO CAC! We also placed an incredible $1 1839 ORIGINAL Gobrecht PCGS PR64 CAC with Black Cat. His pattern collection right now has OVER 250 pieces of really wicked cool rarities (and he is only getting started). With all these coins we placed, we had no problem selling them over the phone and by email. All that mattered was if the coins were of full quality and had killer eye appeal. Coins like that sell immediately (at least for us) in today’s market!
From our point of view, the market is still vibrant with a lot of depth. In fact when we get back to full operations this upcoming week we have two world class deals to work on. We expect both deals to be available within the next month or two (or around ANA). Sorry, no gold in either deal. We fully expect to sell all the coins by the end of ANA. Of course our Legend customers get first shot!
We do NOT believe the market will slow down for the typical summer doldrums for a few weeks-if at all. The market today (to us) looks like a 100% reversal from the horrible first 4 months we experienced. Its become so difficult to judge the “on and off” switch of the market. But, like today when it is on, its ON! Plus, with gold really heating up-who knows what will happen.
