LEGEND BREAKS ANOTHER RECORD

LEGEND NUMISMATICS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE

THE WORLD RECORD PURCHASE OF ARGUEABLY THE FINEST ULTRA HIGH RELIEF-THE SAM BLOOMFIELD COIN

Graded PCGS PR68 CAC this coin is unlike any other. It really appears never to have been handled. It has a glowing gold luster you can see from across the room!

We consider this piece to be a sculpture made in gold more so than a coin. Roosevelt got it so right by wanting all gold $20 to look like this!

It is well known Legend Numismatics was the underbidder of the NGC PR68 that sold for $3,600,000.00-at the time, a record price (3/2021). Our client was frustrated by not buying it. Then we were offered the Bloomfield coin through John Albanese of CAC for $4,000,000.00 and the transaction was completed as fast as the coin was offered. It now resides in the complete GEM PCGS CAC 20th century PCGS CAC gold set (that would rank as #1 PCGS CAC and #2 behind Simpson) owned by Hedgie a long time Legend customer. We exclusively built the set and are extremely proud of it. It is 100% PCGS CAC.

We hope to display this magnificent coin in the future.

When we bought the UHR only two weeks ago, we knew we were paying a strong premium to the market. We fretted what the current resale value would be. A huge positive factor was this coin was PCGS and CAC. Today, just two weeks later, we know of 3 SOLID buyers for the coin well in excess of $4 million dollars. The $8.4 million dollar sale of the 1822 $5 and the fact that NO UHR PCGS CAC piece had ever sold before changed the market dynamics. It does not apply to everyone, but million dollar plus coins are red hot.

HOW IS THE OVERALL MARKET?

Life has been good. The first 3 months Legend surprisingly did all time record business-by far the most in our 40 years of existence. We have never seen demand so strong.

Its been a mix of coins we have sold in the past three months  (the 5C 1913 PCGS PR66 Lib and a the UHR are our 2 biggest coins). While we always cried we could not find coins $2,000.00-$10,000.00, looking at our sales records, we sure sold an awful lot of them! The hottest coins have been better gold. Any better gold between $10,000.00-$50,000.00 it seems we could not get enough of. We had a run of better Saints-which never even made it to our web site!

The weakest areas of the market seems to be : Early copper, ALL 3CN’s (MS+PR), Buffalo Nickels, Merc Dimes, Bust Dimes, Bust quarters. These areas just do not have much in collecting interest these days. If you are a contrarian, these are good areas to collect.

MS and PR Trade Dollars also seem to be a very neglected series. In Mint State you can build a set a 63/65. Allow plenty of time. Ditto a GEM MS Seated Dime collection. There are plenty of areas that have not “had their day”.

Legend Numismatics is still 100% bullish on numismatic gold coins. Also, know that at this point, most PUBISHED prices are behind and are not accurate.

COINS ARE CHEAP. A “RARE” TOM BRADY SIGNED CARD JUST SOLD FOR $2,300,000.00! We’ll take coins any day!

HERE WE GO AGAIN-CAC

Yet again, we just dealt with a customer who does not understand why a coin bought in a major auction is not what it should be. They bought the coin without any representation.

The coin borders on circ yet is supposed to be an MS. It was an all around UGLY coin anyway with questionable originality.

This is why we highly recommend you buy PCGS CAC ONLY. Sure it costs more per coin, but consider the CAC bean an insurance policy. It is the PCGS CAC coins that are bringing the record prices and enjoy the most demand.

In todays market, any capable dealer will have their coins CAC’d. So unless a coin is from a very fresh old time deal, why would it not be CAC?  Dealers know they can get more money for it then. Or if you are buying out of auction ask if they sent the coin to CAC, most auction houses do that.

Bottom line, the safest way for anyone to buy-make sure a coin is PCGS CAC. There are NO substitutes!

NEWPS

We managed to post a small group of NEWPS this week. There are just so few coins out there to be bought. If there is a pool of great  coins for sale, please show us the way to it!

The highlight of our offering has to be the $20 1925-S PCGS MS64 CAC.

Every coin we post always has great eye appeal and is of the highest quality of the grade.

The coins we offer are wonder coins. Not we wonder why the coins are there.
