Next week is the PCGS Invitational in Las Vegas. In our eyes it is the final week of activity for 2021. Our sister companies Legend Rare Coin Auctions has its best gold auction ever. The consignments came in not because of the higher prices. Certain remarkable situations took place. We expect to see many record prices set in the sale. We also expect the bourse floor to be VERY active with many dealers attending due to the fact they still need coins. Of course, Legend Numismatics will be there with our limited inventory. It does not have to be a million-dollar coin to be wicked cool or of a noteworthy sale. This is one of the neatest coins we have ever sold: $1 1866 PCGS PR69 CAMEO CAC. OMG is this coin the epitome of perfection! Not a single flaw, and yes, it does walk and talk!
We cannot disclose the selling price, however we can say it was in excess of $400,000.00.
Think about how this coin could have survived 155 years without suffering a single flaw. Amazing. We consider this piece to be the ultimate Seated Dollar Proof-and one of the ultimate Proof Type coins. Congrats to the new owner, a collector starting the pursuit of an amazing Type set.
