LEGENDS OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED THE WEEK OF THE ANA SHOW. WE ARE REACHABLE VIA EMAIL
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT WEEK AT THE ANA SHOW?
Its ANA Show time! After 18 months of no major shows, we are now apprehensive about the ANA show. Originally we had predicted this would be one of the most heavily attended ANA Shows ever.
Covid is rearing its ugly head again. We are changing our forecast about the publics attendance. We think it will be okay, NOT the mad rush we had predicted. We know dealers need to do biz and have check books that are overflowing, so they will be there. There will still be many (not a flood due to new covid) collectors who are venturing out for the first time in 18 months. We know they are hungry for coins.
We were working so hard to bring fresh coins out to sell at the show. Now we’ve spooked ourselves as we have over $5,000,000.00 worth of coins-mostly Type (and the great Moto Mirrors deal). Will they sell? Obviously the July FUN show was the perfect storm of people and dealers back out buying and just a dabble of coins showed up. Biz was crazy hot there. We now have reasons to believe there WILL be many coins appearing at the ANA Show. The only good thing, the ANA sales are much smaller this year. A bad thing: collectors may put off purchasing because the sales are the following week. We actually know of two major collectors who are not going to the show because they are bummed the auctions are not there.
It is our hope and expectation activity will be strong at the show. As we are writing this, Legend just confirmed the sale of a coin for over $1,000,000.00 (the 1884 Trade Dollar PCGS PR66 Cameo CAC ). CAC was the buyer. BIG coins are still selling. It will be even more interesting to watch what the $1 1804 and the Paquet $20 sell for next week as they are both valued at OVER $5,000,000.00. We paid $5,000,000.00 for the SImpson $1 1794 PCGS MS66 that is being sold too. The market seems more gold driven especially on the bigger ticket coins. Expect to have some sticker shock on what you will be quoted by dealers. As you all know, until now there was the worst drought of coins EVER.
If you attend the show, stop by and say hi. The entire Legend team WILL be there Tue-Thursday. Friday will be just George and Jose. We look forward to seeing you!
HIGHLIGHT FOR SALE

A must see: the Tyrannt Collection. We are one of the few dealers who helped contribute to it.
THE MOTO MIRRORS DMPL’S
This is a partial set that Legend had exclusively built over the last decade. Every coin is a REAL DMPL. We rejected so many coins. We took the set as far as we could. Now the sets owner is preparing for retirement and wants us to place these coins in good homes.
We assure you, these are not the junky coins from the West Coast. On the rarer dates, these are pretty much the BEST coins for the grades. Some coins would bring runaway prices in an auction. We did NOT hype the descriptions. Seeing the coins is believing!
Last, these coins are ever so rare! There are NO accurate values for coins that have not appeared in years. The majority of coins have PCGS pops of less then 10 and the same w/CAC. You can NOT duplicate many of the coins. Again, we assure you, the quality and eye appeal are all there and then some!
If you are interested in any of the DMPL’s, and you are not going to the show, we suggest an email as our offices will be closed Saturday through 16th for the ANA show.
We will send daily NEWPS out during the show. Our regular NEWPS offerings will be next Friday/Saturday. Of course we expect to have a Market Report posted by next Saturday around noon. Stay tuned!
Until then, browse our regular inventory. You’ll find we have more PCGS CAC coins then any one! And better quality too!
