We LOVE these small shows PCGS puts on. They absolutely attract some of the biggest and, for sure, top dealers in the biz. There are only about 28 tables, but you can pound the flesh with some dealers you’d never have access to at a bigger show. Plus, PCGS provides a great breakfast and lunch. We have always considered these “must-attend” shows. The overall attitude is positive, and everyone is there to do biz.
For us, we even had a few long-time customers come by and do deals. We say thank you!
A STORM
Collectors need to take notice. We sold MORE in total dollar value to the first 3 dealers we saw than what we sold ALL of CSNS! Even more important, there were NO chisels, and we got our full retail asking prices. Dealers need coins for their customers and know they have to pay up to get them. The price guides are behind. What to do? We use auction pricing and dealer portals (the dealer portals are behind too). Sometimes, we just have to wing it. Today, paying a 10-20% premium is NOT overpaying. We’ve had several calls from customers in the past week asking if they will ever complete their sets. It is going to take time, and when a coin is available, they will have to step up.
While it was sellerpalooza at the show, buying was IMPOSSIBLE. Our spending totaled a whopping $47,000.00. Ironically, there were more NGC coins being gobbled up than PCGS coins. The hottest coins by far are coins priced BELOW $5,000.00. We did sell a $60,000.00 coin. We wish PCGS could have these shows every other week (just a fantasy)!
GOLD
We didn’t see or hear of a single PCGS CAC MS 65 Saint. We bought two MS 66 Saints and one MS 66+ Saint PCGS CAC.
Like many other dealers, we are still BULLISH on gold.
As of this writing, WHOLESALE sightUNSEEN bids on PCGS CAC MS 65 Saints are $3,755.00. At least there is finally a tiny premium. We’ve shifted to MS 66 Saints as their premiums have not moved much at all. We expect pure demand to change that soon.
And we do see many people taking our advice and starting gold-type sets. Smart move, as you can include the coins you want!
THE MARKET
It is our belief, based upon the current demand we see, that coins priced below $5,000.00 will enjoy the largest gains in value over the next 1-3 years. Several areas could double! That black hole we keep talking about seems to be getting even more hungry.
Again, stretching today will be the difference between owning and making money down the road. Do NOT pass up coins that rarely see because of outdated price guides. You especially want to buy as many of your coins as possible from dealers. The fresher the better!

$1 1882-S PCGS MS68 CAC A one-sided, intense cameo prooflike!
$20 1857 SS CENTRAL AMERICA PCGS MS65 CAC OMG! This coin still has some of the original crust from being underwater. We could not stop looking at it.

Collect MS CC Morgans? Next week will be high-grade CC Palooza! EVERY coin is PCGS CAC. ALL are MS 65 and better! Forgot to mention: each coin is blazing white.
