Legend Wishes Everyone A Safe And Happy Labor Day Weekend.
As many of you have read, we love doing these mini shows. They are well run, you can do more business at them then a regular show, and they feed you well. Typically, attendance is strong by BOTH dealers and collectors. However, this show was probably the weakest of 2015. Attendance was light (on both sides) with most of the regulars opting to stay home (ANA was just 2 weeks ago and Long Beach is only 2 weeks away). However, every single dealer that did come, was there to do business! In the end, our wholesale was decent and on par with the bigger shows we do. Our super secret stealth sellers actually did ok too.
There is no question money is tight among dealers right now. It always has been for the immediate post ANA time period. Collectors clearly are still digesting their ANA purchases as well as watching the stock market. Typically real life does not return to the coin market until mid September. BUT, with the way things are, you can buy some coins at low premiums. Why wait until the market roars back-BUYING NOW WILL SAVE YOU 10% overall. Of course that is IF you can find anything really fresh and exciting. Great coins are so unbelievably rare right now.
The hottest areas are Bust coinage, and gold-ALL gold (including generics).

LEGEND RARE COIN AUCTION REGENCY XIII SALE
This was yet another sale where we proved we have as many serious collectors bidding and winning coins as any other major firm. Activity at the sale overall was surprisingly strong-especially for this time of the year. We had over 100 winning bidders who placed over a thousand bids. Keep in mind, the sale was only 365 lots. Included in the bidders was a “who’s who” of collecting and more important, many NEW collectors.
In our opinion, the total sale was strong. The prices were clearly predicated on each coins quality. Highlights included:
1C 1886 PCGS MS65 TYI CAC $7,343.00
10C 1918D PCGS MS67FB $182,125.00 (sold to a NEW player)
5C 1911 PCGS MS67 CAC $14,687.00
25C 1870CC PCGS XF40 $52,875.00
50C 1948 PCGS MS67+ FBL $24,675.00
$1 1882 PCGS PR68 CA CAC $41,125.00
G $1 1885 PCGS PR67 DCAMEO CAC $29,375.00
$3 1854D PCGS AU55 CAC $67,562.50
$10 1861 PCGS MS62+ CAC $15,862.50
$10 1899O PCGS MS64 CAC $29,375.00
Those were just a few of the coins that realized strong prices.
This week we are posting some very cool NEWPS (in fact the next 2 weeks we are posting some neat coins). Highlights include:
2C 1866 PCGS PR66RD CAC, $2.5 1884 PCGS MS65 CAC, $5 1839D PCGS AU55 CAC and a $10 1906 PCGS MS67 CAC.
Of course there are several other coins that will satisfy many different tastes and budgets. We expect to have all the NEWPS posted by Sunday evening.
Stay tuned next week for an MS Barber Half feast including the ultra rare and incredible 50C 1904S PCGS MS67 CAC! We are also working on the monster gold dollar duplicates from the Simpson Collection.
Sign up for our emails, we do NOT spam. We are hoping to have a generic gold email to send this week.
LEGEND RARE COIN AUCTIONS
The entire staff of LRCA wishes to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the Regency XIII sale this week in Las Vegas. We are still growing at a rapid pace. This past sale, we had several new high caliber players participate (one was the winner of the 10C 1918D PCGS MS67FB at $186,250.00)! We have yet again proved we don’t need a gazillion names, we have the “right” collectors buying!
THE OCTOBER 15TH REGENCY SALE
What a MEGA MONSTER SALE this is! Of course the ultimate highlight are the final 37 coins from the Coronet Collection of Morgans (the former all time #1 set). There are just some MORGANS to die for-the sale opens with a $1 1894 PCGS MS66 and ends with a $1 1921S PCGS MS66. In between there are once in a lifetime pieces like: $1 1895S PCGS MS66+, $1 1896S PCGS MS66+ PL, $1 1898S PCGS MS68 (one of our all time favorite Morgans), $1 1900 0/CC PCGS MS67 (the Coronet Collectors favorite Morgan), and monster $1 1901 PCGS MS66! WOW! So be prepared. We assure you demand has already been intense. You saw what the first session brought-think even stronger prices for this final group! Once these coins are sold-there are few similar (certainly few better) coins ever to be found! Forgot to mention, there is a killer $1 1895 PCGS PR67 DC in the set.

We worked hard to allow only the “cream of the crop” coins in this sale. We’ve probably rejected more coins for this sale than any other we have ever done (the number is so high we’re not sure exactly how many, we know its well over 100 coins). We do not know of a single auction company that does that (or posts which coins it owns in the sale)!
Start preparing! This will be a blockbuster sale. We expect to have it posted on the web open for bidding around September 17th.
THE ENTIRE OCTOBER SALE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AT THE LONG BEACH SHOW. Stop by our table!
We’re also accepting consignments for our December 17th auction. We already have some fabulous coins consigned!
