IS IT REALLY TAX TIME?
We had a very busy week. Sales off the web site were decent (no big sales, most were $2G-$13G) but we were doing some major deals-including one that makes numismatic history!
We spoke to many collectors who did not seem terribly affected by tax time this year. They all seemed to realize now is a really good buying time. The market is slower and gold had retreated. Last there is a tremendous lack of coins so when something neat gets offered-they are now trained to buy it.
If surviving tax time every year could be this good, we’d have a really rolling year round market-save for the summer doldrums. Who knows what this year will bring during the summer? An even up year would be delightful.
THE RSD COLLECTION OF QUARTERS GROWS AGAIN!

On behalf of a long time customer and friend, Legend Numismatics has a acquired the Greenbrier Collection of Proof and MS Shield Nickels-both #1 on the PCGS registries. These 2 sets were assembled by a collector who is picky and had to have the very best coins. This was a lifetime adventure for the Greenbriar Collector.
These 2 remarkable Collections now are in a collection that houses the FINEST EVER MS+PR Liberty Nickels and the FINEST EVER 1913 Liberty Nickel. This was a totally unexpected feat we never imagined could happen. The collector is only doing classical Nickels-sorry, no Jeffersons. We consider this major numismatic history. While Eliasberg may have had a complete set including the 1913 5C, not all his coins were the FINEST that exist! The new collection that has been created is mind boggling (even to us)!
Legend Numismatics will be hosting a display with PCGS at their table for the MS+PR Liberty Nickels along with the 1913 at the summer ANA in Chicago.
