$10 1856-O PCGS AU53

This is a SUPERB GEM AU53. Why it is not a + or AU 55-only PCGS can answer. Some of the best surfaces for any 1850’s O mint are on this coin. We are totally amazed by how clean and smooth the surfaces are. You need a really powerful glass to see only the tiniest scattered ticks. For an O mint, the luster is surprisingly strong. Both sides are a GEM Original even “old time” gold color. There are NO discolorations (even on the high points) or spots.  Miss Liberty and the details are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is remarkable! PCGS 12, NGC 18, CAC 6. It is important to note, before this coin surfaces, NO AU53- 58’s PCGS CAC had ever sold via auction.  That speaks volumes about how rare this date is in true for the grade quality.  Good luck finding a better one!
