We used a strong glass and examined the surfaces all over and determined they are really immaculate. They have thick “skin” which is sort of satiny. There is a light luster due to moderate toning. The colors are totally original and are deep pewter/pale navy/russet. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 16, NGC 16, CAC 7. PCGS has graded 2 in MS66+. The other coin was the last to sell. IT WAS VERY DARK and brought $7,200.00 03/2023. The current Collectors Universe value is $8,500.00. For sure, we never see ANY coins these days dated 1839-in ANY grade!
