1900 1C Small Cent Indian Bronze PCGS PR67CAM RD (CAC)

The proof mintage was 2,262 pieces—against a business-strike mintage of 66.8 million, the highest in the series to date—so this is a one-in-29,500 coin by production. Greysheet’s read on the date: brown pieces are common and red-brown plentiful; full red gems are scarce and the finest very rare; any grade with a cameo is at minimum scarce, and high-grade cameos are rare. This coin stacks all three scarcities at once—full original red color after 125 years (most survivors have mellowed to RB or BN), genuine cameo contrast, and superb gem PR67—which is why the public CPG ladder runs to $36,000 CAC / $30,000 non-CAC.
