Remarkably, this is not a hacked up or problem piece. Only with a strong glass can you see a few tiny ticks scattered about. There is a mellow light luster. Both sides are a dusky original gold color with light toning. The details are all very well struck. There are no dark areas on the highpoints. The eye appeal is nice!
PCGS 27, NGC 10, CAC 4 (only 3 have been graded higher). This coin was purchased direct from the Fairmont sale for $26,400.00 08/2022. A lot has happened with better date gold since then! Forget about the price guides-finding a CAC example of this date is nearly impossible. The prices MUST be adjusted!
