$2.5 1836 SCRIPT 8 PCGS MS64+

This is a remarkable near miss MS65 piece!

Overall, superior surfaces are clean smooth. Only if you use a strong glass can you see a few tiny ticks and thin light cuts. They are all what keeps this coin from an MS65 designation. A bold glowing luster beams from all over. Both sides are a GEMMY and totally original gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Most important, this coin was NEVER messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are above average in strike (these typically come mushy). The eye appeal is great!

PCGS 13, NGC 6, CAC 8. PCGS has graded only 2 in MS64+ with just one coin higher (an MS65+ that LRCA sold for $61,680.00 10/2019). There are NO records of any auction sales for the grade. A note: even in regular MS64 you have to go back to 2016 to find one that sold via auction. This coin last appeared in LRCA July 2020.
