1882 $3 Gold PCGS MS64+ (CAC) A BLAZER!
$17,000.00
GOURMENT COLLECTION
When these are found original, not scrubbed up, or puttied, they can look so terrific. No question this coin is a VERY HIGH END and is a near miss MS 65! Oh yeah, does ever look phenomenal!
This coin has definitely NOT been messed with in any way. The surfaces do have some scattered ticks (there is light porosity in the planchet on the obverse you can only see w/a strong glass-the eye appeal is NOT affected). A full booming luster coupled with boldly semi prooflike surfaces show off the coins beautiful yellow gold color. The contrast is strong. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is awesome!
ONLY 1500 pieces were minted for regular circulation. PCGS 21, NGC 19, CAC 5. PCGS has graded 4 in MS64+. The current Collectors Universe value is $17,500.00. This is certainly not a date or grade you see offered with any frequency. With better gold like this in heavy demand with prices spiking hard at shows recently. We do not think this coin will last long. You can still complete a $3 set in AU55-MS 65! Love what is offered here, an obsolete series, great looking coin, LOW mintage, etc. Oh yeah, we didn’t even go into the coins KILLER eye appeal!
