A SUPERB GEM AU! We have to rank it SUPER HIGH END!
Talk about tight grading! We do not not see anything wrong here. It looks like this coin sat some here undisturbed and not messed with since it was minted. We used a strong glass and found just a few ultra tiny and widely scattered ticks. Nothing is visible unless you use a strong glass. There is a light luster. Both sides are a GEM original sandy gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. All wear is hard to find. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. The eye appeal looks better than the grade (no promises)!
PCGS 40, NGC 74, CAC 10. The current Collectors Universe value is $4,250.00. This is a great example of a tougher Civil War date. We’ve seen higher graded coins that don’t look at nice!
