A GOOD WEEK
We are pleased to report that we received our auction purchases on time and were able to ship out many coins to our satisfied buyers! Over the past two years, our presence in auctions has steadily increased. It’s pleasing to see that collectors are becoming more discerning, avoiding impulse buys, which ultimately saves them money and prevents disappointment.
We also successfully filled out several Want Lists—a task we’ve rarely accomplished recently.
Now, we’ll see how the market truly responds, especially with gold. Those ANA sales yielded a significant number of coins. Will the market absorb them quickly, or will it be the usual lull until September? According to what we’ve observed so far, things seem stable. However, with the ANA excitement now behind us, we believe that our success will depend on sales from our website. Fortunately, we have some truly exceptional coins coming up, and we’re optimistic. We also have more grading to go through.
GOLD
As you all know, we are forever gold bugs. This past week, if you had 100 MS 65 Saints, we could have sold them all. The demand surged when gold shot well above $2,500.00 an ounce. We’ve heard that large telemarketers are in need of hundreds of these coins.
We still strongly recommend buying Saints or any GEM generic gold. The premiums are still low, and with almost every major source forecasting gold to reach $3,000.00 by the end of the year (we shall see), even if the premiums don’t increase, you’ll still be in a favorable position.
Today, we highly recommend MS 65 Saints and Libs. They don’t even need to be CAC-certified; it’s up to you to choose the quality you prefer.
Additionally, better gold coins are a strong buy right now. The pandemic market is clearly over, and you can find some outstanding deals and values today (assuming you can find the coins). Buy what you can now! We predict that in a few months, the market for these coins will be dry again.
NOT EVERY BIG BUYER STARTS OUT THAT WAY WITH US
We want to dispel the myth that we only care about the big players. NOT TRUE.
Phil Flanagan, our first major customer, eventually owned a Class III 1804 $1. He began by purchasing just four coins from us for a total of $1,250.00. Bob Simpson’s first order was a small group of coins, averaging only $3,500.00 each. As you all know, his collection eventually exceeded 300 million in value! Even Half Dome started small, with a gold coin under $5,000.00. Now, he owns four of the top 20th-century gold collections—each the finest at CAC. RSD began by purchasing inexpensive MS Morgans because his grandfather had collected them. He owns Proof 69s today, as well as the finest ever MS + PR Barber 25C sets! We have many more stories like this.
When these collectors first started buying from us, we had no idea of the potential they would eventually reach. We listened, collaborated as a team, and shared our passion and expertise. They felt comfortable enough to let us work our magic—the same magic we offer to ANYONE, regardless of how much they spend. We’re tired of being told that we’re unapproachable or that we only deal in high-end coins. We are committed to finding great coins in ANY price range. However, we are unable to offer many coins below $5,000.00 due to the abundance of dull, non-CAC coins that collectors frequently encounter in that price range.
