A WEEK IN NOVEMBER

EARLY IN THE WEEK

We sold many smaller coins (under $5,000.00) off our web site and via email. Gold by far was the strongest selling area. While we are in talks with several collectors on our bigger coins, it was the smaller coins-what we knew was selling so strong all year that sold strong. Our biggest issue about these coins-we can not replace them!

There was nothing earth shaking to report from this past week. Our final sale of the week was a surprise to us, we saw a major dealer who needed coins. He sat down and spent $200,000.00 with us in 15 min with no chisle or hassle Friday. And his check was immediate (at Baltimore there was a lot of check holding going on by crack out dealers). Consistent with demand, he just about cleaned us our of our generic gold and slightly better gold. At the same time, a new bidder popped up on PCGS CAC MS66 Saints with a bid 15% higher then any one else. Seems to be finally some real activity happening. Actually, as this being written (6:25 est Friday) we are suddenly doing a high five figure deal. There is biz to be done!

We are old time gold bugs. We like it high, low, and as long as it glitters gold. It will always be a “safe” haven. It still has not really moved much in the last 30 day, but you certainly do not want to be the buyer at a high point. BUY ALL KINDS OF GOLD NOW!

CONGRATS TO CAC FOR THEIR LAUNCH OF A PRICE GUIDE! FINALLY!

We’ve been asked our opinion by many people. Of course we support it. Just allow them time to get the kinks worked out (probably a month or two).  At least now you are not looking at values substantially less for a NON CAC coin.

The prices listed are retail. They do NOT list bids. We agree about that as it would be too confusing. In the end, these numbers are nothing more then a guide.

Our hope is they start a chatroom and put us in charge of the no nothing dweebs! 🙂

WHAT THE + MEANS TO LEGEND

We do not just buy any coin with a +. We have seen a few pieces that we scratch our heads on.

Legend Numismatics maintains its own standards for + coins. #1 the coins MUST have top end technical quality. A coin can’t be loaded with ticks, spots, etc. You should be asking yourself, why is this not the next grade? #2 EYE APPEAL. This is everything. You can actually have killer eye appeal and allow for an extra tick or two. We do NOT accept average eye appeal for a + coin.

Our mission has always been to buy the top 5% for the grade. That is why you will see so many of our coins have + designations. We want to make it clear, you can buy with confidence if we offer a +. Numerically, we want the + coins Legend handles to be MSXX.8 or 9!

OUR THIRD EFFORT-A CHOICE/GEM SAINT SET

For the 40 years we have been coin dealers, we have seen the most legendary collectors build choice/GEM Saint sets. The names like Newhouse (the billionaire publishing family), Grodendyke (the tank truck company), Jeff Browning (oil), Duckor (Dr.), Austin Furst (early HBO founder), Morse (part owner Red Sox), and our own Bob Simpson (co-owner Texas Rangers) now has the #1 all time set. Our secret collector Hedgie has the #2 set that is all PCGS CAC (he actually has a complete 20th century gold PCGS CAC set)!!!

We do not know of any one out there at the moment building a choice/GEM Saint set. We’d love to own the #1,2,3 spots on the registry (and we dislike the registry too). We have the knowledge and ability to complete this project. We’ve been buying up every better Saint that comes our way these days-and with our reputation, we get offered them when they exist.

Check out the small group we just posted. Of course all are PCGS CAC. ALL are handpicked and are HIGH END for the grade-not just because the holder says so. We can not do a #1 or #2 set because between Furst, Simpson, and Hedgie all the top coins are locked up. We will NOT mess with NON CAC coins unless they are gozdillas and we feel CAC was just wrong (which is exceedingly rare). So if we place a 64+ in the set, it will be a real MS64++!

Legend can build an amazing set-one that will really be a keepsake. We work close and we’re easy to reach. We build the set as a team. We make it fun too. Consider it. Call or email George Huang at legend@legendcoin.com.

THE TIME IS RIGHT TO BUILD A SET LIKE THIS.

NEWPS

As you can see, we’re into Saint week. We have several awesome Saints for sale. The majority are impossible to replicate.

The $20 1931-D PCGS MS65+ CAC is the Conn Museum/Jay Brahin coin (we would buy ANY of his coins sightUNSEEN).  This coin is amazing. And yes, it deserves the + as it is gorgeous!

The $10 1907 N/M PCGS MS66+.  Even spending $75,000.00 may not get you a better coin!

Of course we have many other coins posted now as well. The $3 1867 PCGS MS64 from last week is a “silent stopper” and is really rare. Or the 50C 1905O PCGS MS68 CAC-OMG!!!! These are great coins that need great homes.

We will work hard to get you in the coins of your desires. Terms/financing is NOT a problem.

ALL NEWPS ARE NOW POSTED
