A GREAT AUGUST!
At the beginning of August, the coin market was spotty. By the end of the month, we had racked up over $3,000,000.00 in sales to collectors. Those are HUGE numbers!
We sold many five figure coins-the majority were gold. We also sold several Want List coins that we were lucky to have found at the ANA show. To us, it proved that if you have the right coins, the market will always be there. Collectors have made that deep black hole even deeper. There are just not many great coins on the market.
Obviously, the hottest sector is still better gold – early Gold especially. A coin MUST be PCGS CAC to get maximum value as a lot of Early Gold has been messed with. Please keep that in mind.
Type is still hit or miss. The cooler the coin and the more eye appealing, the more likely it is to have strong demand. Average Type coins right now are soft. Nickel Type is also quiet. Usually, when things are quiet you can make some of your best deals. Type won’t be down forever!
Now, we are faced with dwindling NEWPS again and possibly won’t see relief until November, as we don’t expect we will find much at the upcoming Long Beach show. In October, there is the new Nashville Show and that is at the very end of the month. We are working on some deals, but we’re not sure when they will come to fruition.
