We never know what will happen any more. We used to have a feel for the market. However, with our inventory at its lowest point in YEARS and wildly gyrating markets (stocks and gold), it’s hard to wake up and know what will happen. The week started slow and ended with wicked strong sales.
All we can say is, MANY great coins are in GREAT hands. We know we are expecting a big gold deal (Better Saints, $10’s, etc.), and the owner is reluctant to let them leave his hands (he just LOVES his coins). So we will wait.
Legend is still doing deals with people who are clearing out the old and their US Mint coins and other misc items to buy better rare coins. This past week we picked up a marvelous old-time PL and DMPL collection (all coins are below $10,000.00). We have to send many coins into CAC. NO lists will be available until the process is done. Dollar collectors will LOVE these coins. Both GH and Laura do! And the owner of the coins is a wonderful collector who has a deep passion for his coins and has studied them for years—and it sure shows. He LOVES coins with contrast! Allow a week or two.
We also suspect that, as usual, when there is a major auction, like the Long Beach Sale, activity from a certain population of buyers slows. Then after they get blown out by collectors from that deep black hole, they start buying again. It’s a pattern that happens every time.

Remember, sometimes your best buy is the one you did not make! Auctions can be tricky. Last: do NOT buy cheaper generic items from auctions. You typically can get far better deals from your dealer!

Every week we are going to ask this: What do you have for sale? We will buy NGC CAC and PCGS NON CAC coins if they are priced properly. We especially need better commoner Mint-marked (NO 11-D) Saints in PCGS CAC MS65/66. We are also buying CACG coins too. We need a wide range of coins besides gold. As we mentioned, our inventory is at the lowest level in YEARS. So it’s a win-win for you to sell or consign us your coins today. Take our word for it; we spent 80% of our time trying to ferret out what we needed.
